The Town of Richmond, a community of approximately 3,400
residents, seeks a dynamic, energetic and highly motivated individual to fill
the part-time position of Community,
Business & Economic Development Director.
Work includes planning, coordinating and supervising the
implementation of community and business development projects, preparing grant
proposals and other necessary documents as may be required for acquisitions, revitalizations,
demolitions, infrastructure and public services.
The successful candidate should have experience with
community and economic development activities, development analysis, grant
writing and administration, tax increment financing, tourism attraction, as
well as financial management skills. The
successful candidate will work locally and regionally to assist in development
that will lead to job growth and increased tax base for the community.
This position will also assist in the implementation of the
Town’s Comprehensive Plan that was adopted in June 2016. Salary commensurate with experience.

Richmond – Police Officer Full time and Part time
The Town of Richmond (pop. 3,411) is seeking a
full-time and part time Police Officer. Applicants
must have completed the Alert test and the Pre-Service training course of the
Maine Criminal Justice Academy.
Preference may be given to applicants who have graduated from the MCJA
or hold a degree in criminal justice or law enforcement. If requested, the applicant must have the
ability to pass an in-depth background check, psychological and polygraph
exams, physical agility test, medical examination, oral board and written

Town of Richmond: Call Firefighter
Richmond Fire Department is seeking applicants for the
positions of firefighters and driver/operators.
Richmond Fire annually responds to 200+ calls per year that range from
fire suppression, vehicle accidents, and various service calls. Duties also include fire prevention and
community events. Work performance
requires initiative and a thorough understanding of firefighting methods as
learned from on the job and in training.
Richmond Fire will provide training to certify any new member as a
Firefighter and/or driver/operator.
requirements: Must be at least 18
years of age. Must have a high school
diploma, GED, or currently be enrolled in a secondary education program. Must hold and maintain a valid Maine driver's
license. Must pass a pre-employment
physical exam and background check. The
person filling these positions must be mature, honest, compassionate, able to
work well with others, and willing and able to interact positively with the
public. The candidate must be prepared
to respond to Fire calls in all types of weather, day or night. Due to the geography of the community the
candidate must be prepared for emergencies in rivers, streams, ponds,
residential/commercial neighborhoods, highways, and mutual aid communities.
